Deena Margolin, LMFT

Born here in Los Angeles, Deena attended Harvard Westlake for high school, then attended Bucknell University where she studied psychology and minored in Italian, graduating magna cum laude. Upon graduating college, Deena worked as a research assistant at UCLA studying mindfulness, anxiety regulation, and the brain. Later, Deena received her Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT) from USC, graduating with highest honors.

In past training experiences, Deena has worked as a school counselor with Counseling Partners of Los Angeles (CPLA), facilitated toddler groups at The Play Group founded by Cassidy Boesch, and supported parent-child groups at the Early Childhood Parenting Center (ECPC).

Deena has also supported workshops and retreats with Dr. Dan Siegel and Jack Kornfield in Los Angeles and New York.

With an interest in research, Deena has been a research assistant in studies at UCLA in mindfulness, at LMU in community health, at Bucknell University in areas of social psychology and digestive psychology, and USC in behavioral health.

Most recently, Deena was interviewed for the docu-series and podcast “Broken Brain” with hosts Dhru Purohit and Dr. Mark Hyman as an expert in childhood trauma resolution.
